Deputy Chairman and cofounder of the organization, lawyer by profession, has extensive experience of working on human rights. Since 2004 she worked for the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia where she led the Freedom and Equality Department. She continued her career in the Penitentiary Department as a Head of Education and Vocational Education of the Convicts Unit, and later – as a Head of Rehabilitation of Convicts Unit. During the period of working for the Penitentiary Department, Natalia was actively involved in the implementation of Juvenile Justice Reform. Within the frameworks of the project implemented together with the UNICEF, she conducted trainings on individual planning of sentences for juveniles to the staff of penitentiary establishments. During 2010-2013 Natalia Tsagareli worked for the UN project Target Initiative for Georgia, as a mobility center advisor aiming at the reintegration of returned migrants to Georgia, elimination of illegal migration and supporting legal migration. Natalia Tsagareli was a trainer of the Penitentiary and Probation Training Centre. From the very beginning, Natalia works for the organization as a project manager for various projects. More specifically, she led the projects supported by the EU, UNICEF, Embassy of the Netherlands, Women’s Fund in Georgia, Open Society Fund, JIP Tbilisi, Swedish Institute and other donors. She has also worked as an expert/researcher within this, as well as other organizations and is the co-author of several studies.
